One suspect arrested, another at large after man stabbed at Vaughan mall

Victim taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged an 18-year-old man and are seeking assistance in identifying a second suspect after a stabbing in the City of Vaughan.

On Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, police responded to a weapons call at a mall located on Promenade Circle in Vaughan. It was reported that a group had been fighting outside of an entrance on the west side, and that one person was stabbed.

When emergency services arrived, they located a 22-year-old male victim suffering from a stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

One suspect has been identified and has been charged. Investigators are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a second suspect.

Unknown suspect described as:

  • Male, black
  • 20 to 30
  • Approximately 5’10”, medium build
  • Black hair and beard
  • Wearing a black and grey jacket and black and grey pants

Charged:

  • Samuel Yzraiib, 18, of no fixed address

Charges:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of a weapon
  • Breach of probation

The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket.
