York Regional Police has released new images and video of a suspect wanted in connection with an assault of a woman in Markham last week.

On Wednesday, Feb. 1 between 8 and 8:30 p.m., a woman walking through an alleyway from McCowan Road toward Woodhall Road was grabbed by a man who forcefully dragged her between two houses. A person with a dog walked past the area and motion sensor lights were activated, causing the suspect to flee the scene, police said.

Police have reason to believe that the suspect travelled on the TTC and was at the Scarborough Town Centre on the evening of Feb. 1, and are concerned he may have followed other women prior to the offence. Investigators are releasing new images and video of the suspect and asking anyone who knows this suspect, or who may have seen or had contact with him, to come forward and report it to police.

The suspect is urged to contact legal counsel and turn himself in.

The man is described as 5 feet 10 inches in height, medium build and was wearing a green coat, hat, black gloves, black boots and camouflage pants.
