No one was injured after multiple gunshots were fired at a residence in Markham in the early morning hours Monday, according to York Regional Police.

Officers responded to a call for shots fired on May 8 at 4:20 a.m. near Settlement Park Avenue, but were initially unable to find any evidence a firearm had been discharged.

Then at 9 a.m., police were called to a different address on Settlement Park after a resident found bullet holes in the exterior of a house, police said in a news release. Officers noted the house had been struck with multiple rounds and they found spent casings nearby.

The shooting appears to have been targeted at one house, police said, and there is no suspect information or known motive at this time.

Police are seeking witnesses who saw or heard anything who have not yet spoken with investigators. Anyone with video recordings from home security systems or dashcam devices are also asked to contact police as soon as possible by calling 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7541, or anonymously at Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or  www.1800222tips.com.
