UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in collision with dump truck in Whitchurch-Stouffville

A motorcyle rider has been killed in a collision with a dump truck in Whitchurch-Stouffville this afternoon.

The driver, a 70-year-old man from Markham, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at Bloomington and Kennedy roads at about 3 p.m. July 17, York Regional Police said.

The driver of the truck was not injured. 

The area will remain closed for several hours, police said, and drivers are asked to find alternate routes. 

The driver of the motorcycle, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to come forward.
