A motorcycle rider has died following a collision with a pick-up truck on Jane Street in King.

The motorcycle collided with the truck, which was pulling at trailer, between Lloydtown-Aurora Road and Davis Drive. The call came in to York Regional Police at 7:53 a.m, said media relations officer Sgt. Clint Whitney.

Investigators learned that the motorcycle was travelling south on Jane while the truck was turning left out of a private driveway to go north.

The adult male rider was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details about the victim are available at this time

It is too soon in the investigation to say anything about charges, Whitney said, but the major collision investigation unit is on the scene.

Jane Street is still closed between Lloydtown-Aurora and Davis and will be for several hours. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find an alternate route.

Investigators are seeking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision. You can contact the major collision investigation unit at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7704 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online
