More than $180,000 in drugs seized during search warrant

Drugs include more than 2 kg of methamphetamine, MDMA, cocaine and more

Investigators with the York Regional Police Organized Crime Bureau - Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Unit, have charged a 46-year-old Toronto man with trafficking methamphetamine.

On the evening of Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation, officers arrested a suspect in possession of two kilograms of methamphetamine at a condominium complex in the City of Toronto.

On Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, investigators executed search warrants at the suspect’s residence and a second property in the City of Toronto. The following drugs were located and seized:
    •    900 additional grams of methamphetamine
    •    550 grams of methyl enedioxy methamphetamine (MDMA)
    •    100 grams of cocaine
    •    450 grams of cannabis
    •    50 grams of psilocybin

The total value of the drugs seized is more than $180,000.

Charged:
    •    Quoc Tang, 46, City of Toronto

Charges Include:
    •    trafficking
    •    possession for the purpose of trafficking

Mr. Tang has been held in custody and will appearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on Feb. 5, 2019.

The investigation is ongoing.
