UPDATE: Missing Newmarket man located safe

UPDATE, 11:48 a.m., April 7: York Regional Police report the missing vulnerable man has been located safe and sound and is being reunited with his family. "Thank you everyone for your support and assistance," police said.

York Regional Police is seeking the public's assistance in locating a 72-year-old man missing from Newmarket.

He was last seen on his bike at 11 a.m., police posted on social media at about 10:30 p.m. Friday.

At approximately 4 p.m., he spoke with his family and is believed to have ridden along Bathurst Street to about Elgin Mills Road in Richmond Hill.

He is described as male, with grey hair and a beard, wearing a grey sweatshirt, brown pants and blue helmet.

His family and police are concerned for his well-being.
