Masked bandits flee with cellphones in Richmond Hill

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking assistance to identify two suspects following a robbery at a mobile phone store in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, shortly before 8 p.m., York Regional Police were called to a mobile phone store in the area of Yonge Street and Elgin Mills Road East for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they located a store employee who was not physically injured.

Investigators believe that two men with their faces masked, one armed with a knife, entered the store and demanded mobile phones. The employee complied and the suspects fled with a quantity of phones.

Suspect 1:

  • Male
  • Wearing a black coat, black jeans and black face mask

Suspect 2: 

  • Male
  • Wearing a red coat, black jeans
  • Armed with a knife
