A 41-year-old massage therapist has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Markham, according to York Regional Police.
A 48-year-old woman contacted police on Jan. 13 to report that she had been inappropriately touched by a massage therapist while receiving treatment, police said.
The victim was not physically harmed in this incident, police added.
The accused, who has been practising massage therapy for 10 years, provides the service at several locations in the Markham area, and also conducts mobile appointments at the homes of some clients, police said. He sometimes schedules appointments through WeChat.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Luo Honghui, who also goes by Jamie or Jimmy, of Markham is charged with sexual assault.
A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
