Markham man wanted for obstruction of justice, forgery (UPDATE)

UPDATE, Nov. 19

An individual, wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB) in connection with fraudulent appeal documents being sent to the Ministry of Transportation, has now been arrested.

In January 2021, the OPP received a referral from the Ministry of Transportation in relation to an identified breach within their provincial offences appeals program. The Ministry reported that a number of fraudulent court appeal documents had been received, among other allegations.

An arrest warrant had been issued in late October and on November 16, 2021 the accused individual now turned himself in to investigators.

Jun (John) HUANG, 42, of Markham is charged with:

  • Obstruction of Justice, contrary to section 139(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Uttering Forged Documents, contrary to section 368(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, 1000 Finch St. West, Toronto on January 12, 2022 to answer to the charges.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Anti-Rackets Branch (ARB) has issued an arrest warrant for a resident of Markham, following an investigation into allegations of fraudulent appeal documents being sent to the Ministry of Transportation.

In January 2021, the OPP received a referral from the Ministry of Transportation in relation to an identified breach within their provincial offences appeals program. The Ministry reported that a number of fraudulent court appeal documents had been received, among other allegations.

OPP ARB investigators have been involved in a lengthy investigation. As a result of the investigation, a warrant has been issued for Jun (John) Huang, 42, of no fixed address. He is charged with:

  • Obstruction of Justice, contrary to section 139(2) of the Criminal Code
  • Uttering Forged Documents, contrary to section 368(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
