A Markham man faces numerous charges following a bust at the Collier Street Parkade in downtown Barrie.
City police responded to a report Tuesday afternoon about a suspicious vehicle in the city parking facility.
Police said officers spoke to a man in the vehicle and, after determining the name he provided was false, they discovered a loaded firearm and large quantity of cash and drugs in the vehicle.
Police said they seized a loaded handgun with additional ammunition in the magazine, 135 grams of cocaine, 42 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and six grams of heroin.
A 21-year-old Markham man was arrested and had been charged with numerous firearm-related offences, as well as charges related to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of controlled drug substances, obstructing a peace officer, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
