Man with gun flees empty handed after failed robbery in Georgina

Police say the suspect entered a Dalton Road convenience store demanding money, but left before getting anything

A man armed with a handgun fled empty handed from a convenience store in Georgina after a failed robbery Sunday night.

The suspect demanded money after entering the Dalton Road store, south of Black River Road, at about 6:35 p.m. Nov. 13, police said.

However, the man fled on foot prior to obtaining anything, police said.

The suspect is described as white, aged about 30, with a heavy build. He was wearing a mask, blue latex gloves, jeans, a camo backpack and a black jacket.

Investigators are seeking any witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or anyone who may have dashcam or video surveillance footage in the area at the time.
