Man injured after being run over following fight at Vaughan restaurant

York Regional Police is searching for two suspects wanted for attempted murder in the incident that occurred Friday at Islington and Steeles

York Regional Police has launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was run over by a vehicle following a fight at a restaurant in Vaughan early Friday.

Police responded to a report of motor vehicle collision at the restaurant at Islington Avenue and Steeles Avenue West at 2:25 a.m. April 7, according to a police news release.

A fight had broken out at the restaurant, and a man had been run over by a black SUV that then fled south toward Steeles.

The victim, 39, was transported by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Police believe there are two suspects involved. The first suspect is described as Black, late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches, slim build, wearing a white jacket and a red-green baseball cap. The second suspect is described as Black, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches with a heavy build, wearing a black jacket with a white triangle on it and a baseball cap.

Police urge any witnesses, or anyone with any dashcam or other video recording footage of the suspects or the vehicle, who have not yet come forward to do so as soon as possible.
