A 20-year-old Bradford West Gwillimbury man has been charged with sexual offences against minors.
In March 2023, a 16-year-old girl had communications with a suspect on social media, York Regional Police said in a news release.
In June of that year, the girl met with a man, who posed as a 17-year-old, and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
On Feb. 5, 2024, the suspect was charged with sexual assault.
Police also allege that in October 2023, a 13-year-old girl met a boy at a party, who posed as a 16-year-old. He met with the victim at a later date and sexually assaulted her, police said.
Police learned the suspect had been visiting high schools in Newmarket, where he approached students.
Janarthan Sivaranjan, 20, has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching.
