Man charged with murder in Richmond Hill death

A Toronto man has been charged with second degree murder in the death of a woman in Richmond Hill.

At around 6:35 p.m. Friday, York Regional Police were asked to check on the welfare of a person at a Taylor Mills Drive South residence.

Arriving officers found a man and a woman.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim’s identity is not being released at this time, as notifications to next of kin are still taking place.

A post mortem examination is expected in the coming days.

The 35-year-old suspect is scheduled for a bail hearing today.
