Man charged with drunk driving, firearm offences in Vaughan

York Regional Police have charged a man with nine firearm and impaired driving related offences.

York Regional Police have seized a firearm and charged a 32-year-old man with multiple offences after a traffic stop in Vaughan.

On June 30 at approximately 1:20 a.m., officers received a report of an impaired driver in a silver Dodge Durango in the area of Highway 7 and Highway 27, police said.

According to police, officers on patrol located the vehicle stopped on the road with the engine running and the driver sleeping. Officers determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested him. A search of the driver and vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded handgun and cannabis. 

Kristofer Miller, of Brampton, was charged with nine offences, including impaired operation, blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, along with other firearm-related offences.
