A 34-year-old Markham man is charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of a woman from British Columbia at a residence in Markham on Sunday.
When York Regional Police received an unknown trouble call at an address on Gillingham Avenue on Nov. 26, 2023 at 10:47 p.m., responding officers arrived found an adult man with serious injuries and an adult woman without vital signs, according to a York Regional Police news release.
Xu Guo, 34 from was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Zhaoyu Li, 34, of Markham, is charged with first degree murder.
A post mortem examination is expected to occur in the coming days, police added.
