Man attacked in armed robbery at Richmond Hill currency store

Police say two men, one armed with a firearm, stole a large amount of cash from a victim

A man was the victim of a violent attack in an armed robbery at a Richmond Hill currency store yesterday.

The man was followed by two male suspects when he entered the store at Yonge Street and North Lake Road at approximately 12:40 p.m. Nov. 2 with a large amount of cash in a backpack, York Regional Police said.

One suspect was armed with a gun and struck the victim multiple times before stealing his money, police said.

The two suspects fled the scene prior to police arriving.

Several witnesses inside the store at the time of the robbery were not physically injured.

The suspects are described as male, Middle Eastern.
