Man arrested after York Regional Police officer attacked in Aurora

A York Regional Police officer was attacked in an incident in Aurora yesterday. 

Police responded to reports of a suspicious person in the area of Yonge and Mosley streets on Thursday, Oct. 7 about 8:40 a.m. 

They located a male in the area and when the officer approached him, the suspect attacked. 

Police said the suspect fought with the officer and made an unsuccessful attempt to grab his firearm. 

The suspect was apprehended and nobody was seriously injured. 

Glenn Mclean, 41, of no fixed address, has been charged following the incident. 

He is facing four charges including assault with a weapon, assault peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, and disarming a police officer. 

Investigators are now asking for any witnesses or people with video surveillance of the incident to come forward.
