South Simcoe Police Service reminds parents and caregivers to ensure doors and windows are locked after two young children were found wandering the streets early Saturday morning in Bradford.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 just before 5 a.m., police were dispatched to a gas station on Holland Street West after receiving calls from concerned citizens about two small children who were lost. The children, 3 and 5, were seen wandering the streets with the family dog. Both children were barefoot and wearing only pyjamas. Investigation determined the children had managed to open the garage door and walk one kilometre away from their home unbeknownst to a caregiver. Police dropped off the children and the dog at home and no one was hurt.

Young children are curious and want to explore. South Simcoe Police Service is urging parents to make sure all doors and windows are secure as children can sometimes wander off. Thank you to the citizens whose calls helped us get these children back home safely.
