A 30-year-old Keswick man is charged with impaired driving after being pulled over by Ontario Provincial Police officers on Highway 7 in Ops Township Friday night.

On April 19 at 10:49 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act offence, where an odour of alcohol was detected inside the vehicle, according to an OPP Kawartha Lakes Detachment news release.

Following an investigation, Mitchell Haid is charged with operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration over 80, police said.

In addition to the charges, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension and the motor vehicle is impounded for seven days.

Haid is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date, police added.
