Michelle Spencer and her husband were terrified early Monday morning when they discovered a body at the end of their driveway near Northgate Drive and 8th Line in Bradford.

At 2 a.m., her husband was waking up to get ready 3 a.m. shift for work when he was backing out of the driveway and noticed the body on the road.

"He got up, had his breakfast, and as he was pulling out of the driveway, he saw a man on the ground, face down," said Spencer.

Her husband went back into the house to tell his wife what he had discovered.

"I was like, 'Are you sure you're not seeing something?' It's 2 a.m. are you tired?" she said.

Spencer said when she went outside she saw a man, non-responsive, looking to be in his 40s or 50s wearing a winter coat and hat lying face down on the road at the end of their driveway.

The couple called 911 immediately.

"I just thought, 'Oh my God, this poor man. What happened to him?'" said Spencer.

"It was terrifying," Spencer added.  "I don't think we would have discovered it if he (her husband) didn't have to go to work this morning."

Spencer said she heard three bangs outside early this morning at around 1 a.m., but didn't think much of it and is not sure if it has anything to do with the body.

"That really startled me, and I thought maybe it's just someone banging ice off their car... so I didn't think anything of it."

The couple made a statement to South Simcoe police who were on scene investigating this morning and say no foul play is suspected and there is no threat to public safety.
