A driver was charged with stunt driving after "blowing by" a police cruiser at 180 km/h on Highway 407.
In a York Regional Police video posted online, a white SUV is shown passing the cruiser and vehicles in other lanes on the toll highway that has a 100 km/h speed limit.
"For a G2 driver, what you did was really dangerous, and also blowing by me and in and out of traffic," the officer said in the video.
While stunt driving is an arrestable offence, the officer said he would not arrest the driver, however the charge results in licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound.
"You're also passing on the inside. I don't know why you decided to go that fast," the officer tells the driver as a passing truck blares a horn.
"All these people are honking at me because they all saw the way you were driving," the officer added.
After advising the driver to call 'mom or dad or whatever' to get picked up roadside, the officer added that he has seen collisions that have occurred as a result of a driver passing too closely to other vehicles.
"You know when you went in and you kind of cut one of the cars off, so close, if he ticks you or anything, you're rolling all the way down. You're going that fast, right? So maybe, hopefully, this is the last time. I hope this is the last time you go this quick."
A little-known fact about the 407 is that it does actually have rules.

One of which is that you can't weave through traffic going 180 km/h.
This G2 driver's bill after stunt driving will be a lot more expensive than the tolls to use this highway.#YRP #YorkRegion #RoadToSafety pic.twitter.com/F8Qgk4zzLM
Last year, 1,108 stunt driving charges were laid in York Region, police said.
