Fire at Georgina auto shop considered suspicious

Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses following a suspicious fire in the Town of Georgina.

On Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at approximately 11:15 p.m., York Regional Police were called to an auto shop on Highway 48, north of Ravenshoe Road for a report that a vehicle in the yard was on fire. Georgina Fire and Rescue Services attended and put out the fire. Fortunately, no one was injured but investigators believe the fire was intentionally set.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage that captured any suspicious activity, to come forward.
