NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE SERVICE
***************************
The family of Const. Devon Northrup has established a memorial fund in loving memory of Northrup to honour his service and the ultimate sacrifice he made in the line of duty on Oct.11, 2022.

Const. Northrup, 33, was a beloved spouse, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. He was a cherished member of the South Simcoe Police Service who accomplished so much during his six years as an officer through his work in specialized units and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

One of Northrup’s passions was the annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run, also known as the Run to Remember. Northrup took on the role of team captain for the South Simcoe run team and was an annual participant in the run from Toronto to Ottawa, which honours officers who gave their lives protecting their communities.

Tragically, Northrup will now be recognized among those fallen heroes.

To continue Northrup’s legacy of helping others, proceeds from the Devon Northrup Memorial Fund will benefit causes close to Northrup’s heart.

The fund has been set up through the local Innisfil Community Foundation.
