Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking a suspect following a robbery at a gas station in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, shortly after 12:30 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a gas station located in the area of Yonge Street, south of King Road, for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they located the victim who had minor injuries.

Investigators believe that a man armed with a knife entered the gas station and made a demand for cigarettes. The employee refused and the suspect went around the counter, assaulted the employee and stole cigarettes. The suspect then fled on foot.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, white
  • 25 to 35 years
  • 5’9”
  • Medium build
  • Shoulder-length, dark-coloured hair
  • Wearing a black-and-red jacket with a black scarf covering his face

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please contact police with any information.
