Driver dies in single-vehicle Richmond Hill crash

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses after a fatal collision in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 shortly after 1 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the area of Centre Street East, west of Bayview Avenue, for a report of a single-vehicle collision. When officers arrived they found a pickup truck with an 81-year-old male driver inside who was suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or who may have dashcam footage of the incident or the driving behaviour prior to the collision, is asked to come forward.
