A driver was caught going 167 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 404 by the Aurora division of the Ontario Provincial Police this afternoon.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt was filming a video with a police constable doing speed enforcement on the highway at the underpass for Bethesda Sideroad, just south of Bloomington Road, when they clocked a car travelling at 167.

"I promise you that was not planned. That just happened right now," Schmidt said, still filming as the other officer drove off after the speeding driver.
"We should not be having those kind of speeds. Look at the traffic volume right now," he said.
Right before that happened, the constable said in the video that he had stopped another driver half an hour earlier who was going 169 km/h.
Both those speeds are considered stunt driving in Ontario, as it is more than 50 km/hour over the speed limit.
"Given the weather conditions and the traffic volume, that shouldn't be happening on our highways," he said.
Environment Canada issued a weather alert today for dense fog in Newmarket and Aurora.
These were not the only drivers stopped for excessive speeds and stunt driving by Aurora OPP recently. In another tweet today, it said overnight three drivers had been stopped by the division for speeding.
