Driver, 35, killed in two-vehicle collision in Richmond Hill

A 35-year-old man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Richmond Hill on Saturday morning.

A white Hyundai Elantra and white Ford Explorer collided on Yonge Street near Kirk Drive on Jan. 20 at 10:23 a.m., York Regional Police said in a news release.

The male driver and a female passenger in the Hyundai had sustained serious, life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The 31-year-old passenger was transported to a trauma centre in critical condition.

The driver of the Ford was not seriously injured and remained on scene, police said.
