Sketches of two suspects wanted in the drive-by shooting in Schomberg in February have been released today.
A 65-year-old man was out walking his dog at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12 on Centre Street in King Township when he was shot at multiple times from a vehicle driving by.
Police originally thought the man was shot for gesturing at the speeding vehicle. However, investigation has revealed this was a targeted shooting, York Regional Police said, but the victim was not the intended target.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He is going through a lengthy recovery process but is expected to survive.
Police obtained sketches of the two suspects in the vehicle and are appealing to the public to help identify them.
Video of the suspect vehicle, a 2021 white Lexus RX-350 with the licence plate CXAK183, was previously release and police said obtaining the vehicle would be of great assistance to the investigation.
