Canine unit tracks down fleeing robbery suspect in Georgina

A Georgina man is facing charges after being tracked down by a canine unit and arrested in connection with a commercial robbery in Georgina. 

York Regional Police was called to the area of High Street and Middle Street at about 8 p.m. on June 21 for reports of a robbery in progress. 

When officers arrived they learned a victim had suffered minor injuries to his head during the robbery. The suspect however, had fled the scene prior to police arrival. He was described as a male in his late 20s to early 30s. 

Investigators, involving the canine unit, were able to quickly track him down and take him into custody. 

Jacob Trudeau, 27, of Georgina is facing three charges: robbery, disguise with intent, and breach of probation.
