A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for 44-year-old man wanted after removing his court-ordered GPS ankle bracelet.

In January 2022, investigators with the York Regional Police Property Crime Task Force conducted an investigation into several offences including break and enters and thefts of motor vehicles. A suspect who was charged in this investigation was held for a bail hearing and was released by the courts on several conditions including a condition to be wearing a GPS ankle bracelet at all times.

In late January the suspect removed the ankle bracelet and left his residence in the Town of Ajax.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect. Investigators have exhausted a number of leads in attempting to locate him and are now appealing for assistance from the community.

If seen, do not approach him, instead call police immediately. He is encouraged to seek legal counsel and turn himself in. Investigators are reminding the public that anyone providing assistance to the suspect may be subject to criminal charges.
