Bullets damage Richmond Hill residence in overnight shooting

Investigators with the #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses after gunshots were fired for a second time at a residence in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, shortly before 1 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on Wildwood Avenue for a report of gunshots being fired. When officers arrived, they located several bullet holes through the front of the house and shell casings on the road. The residents of the house were home at the time of the shooting but were not injured.

In a related incident, on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, shortly before 2:30 a.m., York Regional Police were called to the same residence on Wildwood Avenue for a report of sounds of gunshots. When officers arrived, they located shell casings on the street. Further investigation revealed that there were multiple bullet holes in the exterior of a house. Officers found that the bullets had gone into the house causing damage inside the residence.

There were people inside sleeping at the time of the shooting, but no one was physically injured. There were also bullet holes found in vehicles that were parked in the driveway.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed these incidents, who have not yet spoken with police, to please come forward.
