Barn fire in King was intentionally set, police say

No one was injured in the fire that occurred Sunday, Oct. 2 at about 12:30 p.m.

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses following a suspicious fire in the Township of King Sunday, Oct. 2.

Police were called to a fire at 867 King Rd., near Bathurst Street, at approximately 12:30 p.m. The Township of King Fire and Emergency Services attended and extinguished the fire.

The barn was unoccupied and no one was injured, police said.

Investigators believe the fire was intentionally set and are appealing to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, or has video surveillance or dashcam footage that captured any suspicious activity, to come forward.
