Aurora man faces slew of charges after dispute at Ramara marina

An Aurora man faces a slew of charges, including impaired operation and assault with a weapon, following a collision between a Sea-doo and another vessel that was sparked by a verbal dispute at a marina near Orillia, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers responded to a complaint at a Ramara Township marina that a Sea-doo operator was not following no wake policies and had allegedly struck another vessel following a verbal disagreement Sunday, July 10 shortly after 3:40 p.m., police said. 

Andrey Wool, 46, of Aurora is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs;
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);
  • Dangerous operation;
  • Obstruct peace officer;
  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Mischief under $5,000;
  • Fail to stop after accident;
  • Fail to report accident (HTA);
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner (HTA);
  • Failing, after a collision, to give name of vessel or name and address of authorized representative to master or person in charge of other vessel (CSA 2001);
  • Operating a Vessel in an Unsafe Manner (CSA 2001).

The accused was released on an undertaking and is to appear Aug. 23, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia, according to police. An administrative driver's licence suspension for 90 days was also issued.
