Arsonist gets gas, sets fire to nearby field in Vaughan

The male suspect was seen on video surveillance at the gas station, according to the Crime Stoppers of York Region crime of the week

The unknown male is described as white, aged 35 to 55, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim build.

A man who set fire to a field in Vaughan is wanted for arson. 

The suspect filled two large gasoline containers at the Petro Canada gas station at 3700 Major Mackenzie Dr. at about 7:30 p.m. on April 23, according to the Crime Stoppers of York Region crime of the week. 

He then walked to an open field west of the gas station and set it on fire. 

 

 

Video surveillance footage shows him at the pumps, walking across a parking lot, and at the counter inside of what appears to be the gas station. 

The suspect is described as a white male, aged 35 to 55, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a grey camouflage hooded sweater and matching sweat pants, with black trainers and sunglasses.
