Arrest warrant issued for suspect in Vaughan Mills shooting

York Regional Police are now seeking a Toronto man charged with attempted murder in the August 2018 incident

On Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 shortly after 7 p.m., York Regional Police responded to Vaughan Mills Mall following reports of sounds of gunshots in the parking lot. When officers arrived, witnesses reported that the suspects involved in the exchange of gun fire had fled the area.

Shortly after the incident occurred, investigators identified and charged two men who had been involved in the altercation.

Charged:

  • Shamar Grant, 22, City of Toronto

Charges:

  • Weapons dangerous
  • Point a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

Charged:

  • Kevin Fearon, 27, City of Toronto

Charges

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Breach of probation
  • Disobeying court order x2

Wanted:

  • Jonathan Rodrigues, 25, City of Toronto

Charge:

  • Attempted murder with a firearm

Mr. Rodrigues is urged to seek legal counsel and turn himself into police.

Investigators continue to seek any information on the whereabouts of the wanted man, as well as any information that may assist with identifying the other two men seen in the video.
