82-year-old pedestrian killed in Richmond Hill collision

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at approximately 8:35 a.m., York Regional Police responded to the area of Morgan Avenue and Dudley Avenue, for a report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision.

When officers arrived, they learned that the victim, an 82-year-old female from Thornhill, had been struck by a grey Honda Civic.

The victim was transported to hospital where she was sadly pronounced deceased.

The 35-year-old female driver of the Honda was not injured and remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may residential surveillance or dashcam footage from the area, are being asked to please come forward.

No charges have been laid at this time.
