58-year-old pedestrian killed in Richmond Hill collision

Police say the woman was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal pedestrian collision in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020, at 10 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Major Mackenzie Drive East, for a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

When officers arrived they found a 58-year-old female pedestrian from the City of Vaughan who was suffering from life-threatening injuries.

She was transported to hospital where sadly she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old female from the City of Richmond Hill, remained at the scene of the collision.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage, to please come forward.
