2 truck cabs set on fire at Richmond Hill commercial yard

York Regional Police are seeking a man who was caught on video surveillance dousing the truck cabs in a flammable liquid and setting them on fire

Two semi-truck cabs were set afire at a commercial truck yard in Richmond Hill early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to a commercial truck yard at Newkirk Road and Crosby Road, where they found two semi-truck cabs fully engulfed in flames, Jan. 17 at approximately 1 a.m., according to a York Regional Police news release.

The fire was extinguished and no one was injured, police said.

Video surveillance footage show a man arriving at the yard, dousing two truck cabs in a flammable liquid and lighting them on fire.

The suspect is described as male, 5 feet 8 inches, heavy build, wearing a black jacket with a hood, khaki pants and a white face mask.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone with a video recording that captured any suspicious activity in the area, to come forward.
