A pharmacy in Newmarket was robbed on yesterday — one week after a similar robbery in the same area.
York Regional Police were called to a pharmacy in the area of Mulock Drive and College Manor Drive for a report of a robbery Tuesday, April 5 at about 3:35 p.m.
Police said two male suspects entered the pharmacy and demanded employees open the safe and cash registers. They took various medications and cash before fleeing the scene.
The suspects are described as black, male, and between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall.
Police are seeking the suspects, and are asking any witnesses who may have information to come forward.
This is the second recent pharmacy robbery in that neighbourhood. On March 29, a pharmacy in the area of Bayview Avenue and Mulock was robbed of cash and drugs at about 4 p.m. Three men are sought in connection with that incident.
Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to contact YRP's hold-up unit at at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 6630, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. You can also leave an anonymous tip online.
