UPDATE, May 17, 10 a.m.: A four-year-old boy has died in hospital following a pedestrian collision yesterday that also seriously injured an 10-year-old girl.

The charges against a 16-year-old Richmond Hill man who was arrested at the scene are now: dangerous operation cause death; criminal negligence cause death; dangerous operation cause bodily harm x2; and criminal negligence cause bodily harm x2.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses after three people, including two children, were struck by a vehicle outside a home in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at noon, police were called to a residence on Athabasca Drive in Vaughan for reports that a vehicle had gone off the road, striking three people in a residential driveway.

An 11-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. They remain in critical condition in hospital.

An adult male was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle involved was a black, 2017 Mercedes C class. The driver, a 16-year-old male from Richmond Hill, was arrested at the scene. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward.
