2 arrested, drugs, firearm seized in York Region trafficking investigation

Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have laid charges and seized firearms, cash and a significant quantity of drugs after a drug trafficking investigation.

In January 2022, officers began a month-long investigation into a suspected drug dealer and on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, officers arrested the suspect. He was found in possession of a loaded handgun, ammunition, drug packaging material and $20,000 cash.

Search warrants were executed at the suspect’s residence as well as a rented storage locker in Bowmanville, where investigators seized $580,000 in Canadian currency, a loaded handgun with ammunition and the following drugs:

  • Sixty-nine litres of Hydrocodone in 138 bottles,
  • 982 bottles of codeine equaling 380 litres,
  • 5.6 kilograms of cocaine,
  • 1,634 Fentanyl pills,
  • 575 Oxycodone pills,
  • 549 grams of methamphetamine,
  • 1,120 grams of psilocybin mushrooms,
  • 262 grams of mushroom edibles,
  • 38 grams of MDMA,
  • two grams of purple Fentanyl,
  • 107 Seraline Hydrochloride pills,
  • 49.50 pounds of cannabis bud,
  • 295 grams hash,
  • 298 grams Shatter and more than
  • 2,000 packages of cannabis vape pens, cannabis edibles, cannabis cereals and liquid THC drinks.

  • Brett Mann, 23, of Bowmanville 
  • Elisabeth Harvey, 23, of Bowmanville

CHARGES INCLUDE: 

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x2 
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm x2 
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle 
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon x2 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Crystal Meth 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Ecstasy 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Schedule 3 Substance 
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Other Schedule 4 Substance 
  • Possession - Ecstasy 
  • Possession from the Purpose of Distribution – Cannabis 
  • Possession of Illicit Cannabis by a Person 18 or Older 
  • Trafficking Other Schedule 1 Substance
