Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have arrested and charged an 18-year-old man after a break in and fire at a school in the Town of Georgina.

On Thursday, April 9, 2020 shortly after 4 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a call for a fire at a school located on Glenwoods Avenue.

When officers arrived, they learned that a window had been smashed in a door on the southeast side of the school. A fire was set inside one of the lockers but was extinguished before it caused very much damage. A trophy was taken from a school display.

The suspect has been arrested and is now facing charges in connection with the incident.

Charged:
    •    Isaiah Poole, 18, of Georgina

Charges:
    •    Break and enter
    •    Arson causing damage to property
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Mischief over $5,000
