14-year-old Newmarket boy charged in stabbing

A 14-year-old Newmarket boy is charged with assault with a weapon following a stabbing of another teenager Friday night in Newmarket.

York Regional Police officers who responded to a call on Yonge Street on Friday, May 14 shortly after 5 p.m. found a 14-year-old male victim with a minor stab  wound, according to a news release. He was transported to hospital and released shortly afterwards. 

Through investigation, officers identified a 14-year-old male suspect who is charged with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.
