Passed away peacefully around 3 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Chartwell Aurora (Resthaven).
Joseph was born on May 10, 1921 in Kingston, Jamaica to Annie Lee and Chung Su Young. He married Fay Wong on May 21, 1950, and they had 3 children: Michael, Dorothy and Wade. In 1966 they immigrated to Toronto and subsequently hosted and sponsored many family members who settled in the GTA.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Michael, his wife Fay and his siblings - Cecil, Thelma, Fredel, Harry, Osbourne, Gladys, Kenneth, Kathleen, and George. He is survived by his 2 children Dorothy (Roland) and Wade (Cynthia), (Karina), grandchildren Katrina, Stephanie, Alia, Jason, Vanessa, Renata, Joseph, Philip, Mikey, Shaun, Alyssa, Kyle and great-grandchildren Elias, Taiya, Andrew, Austin, Kaden, Lucas, Alessandra, Kiana, Nicholas, Tristan, Mateo and Anna plus many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a quiet man and loving husband to Fay and a dedicated usher at St. Paschal Baylon well into his 90's. He would read the daily newspaper, Time magazine, Life and Reader's Digest cover to cover and underline things he thought important. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed looking after his fish and making sure his feathered friends always had food. Joe could always be seen with a camera around his neck or in hand at family gatherings. In his later years the great-grandchildren whom he had the opportunity to meet brought him much joy.
