It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Helen Margaret Woodhead (nee Wood) on Friday, March 24, 2023. Helen was born in Toronto on July 31, 1934. She often expressed what a wonderful childhood she had. Family remained the most important thing to Helen all of her life.
Helen married Stew Woodhead October 5, 1956 and mourned his passing in 2011. Helen was a loving mother to Laura Morning (Kevin), Stewart Woodhead, Lynda McCarroll (Mike) and Leanne Borden (Dan). She was a very special grandmother to Caitlin, Alec, Victoria and Connor, Brandon and Ashley, Emily and David, Amber and Jenna and great-grandmother to Liliana and Kymani.
Due to her love of fashion, she was happy to work at dress shops on Main Street in Newmarket, where she could indulge her love of clothes and accessories. Helen was very sociable and loved by all who knew her. She was physically active all her life and in recent years, enjoyed mall-walking at Upper Canada Mall with her friends. Helen was into hugs and she loved her Timmies!
Celebration of life will take place at Taylor Funeral Home 524 Davis Drive, Newmarket 905-898-2100, on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1 PM to 5 PM.
