WHITE, Robert George

White, Robert George: Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the age of 79. Loving husband of Hazel (nee Foulds) for almost 60 years. Beloved father of Janice (Shane) Dobson and Kathryn (Jon) Retter. Proud grandfather of Rachel, Matthew, Taylor and Nicholas. Robert was a TTC licensed mechanic; a professional photographer for the Newmarket Era; a York Regional Police Constable; a Para Legal and a Medical Law Clerk. Among his many accomplishments Robert served on the following committes: Chair of the East Gwillimbury Library Board in Holland Landing, member of Southlake Regional Health Centre board of trustees and the Board of Blue Hills Academy.
After retirement Robert worked for Canadian Tire in the parts department. His hobbies and interests were many. Lover of all things Disney including Goofy’s 1969 Convertible Camaro, travelling to many car shows and receiving numerous awards and recognition as the co-founder of The Ontario Camaro Club. During retirement, he created a model railroad themed town, “Whiteville in Imagination Place” inclusive of many Disney themed miniature villages. A celebration of Life will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Sick Kids Hospital.
