03-Mar-1951 - 17-Aug-2022

Owner/Operator of Grainger Irrigation for the past 35 years.

Bill passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre with his immediate family by his side, comforting him. His special new friend John D. was in the next bed.  Much loved husband of Katherine (nee Trach) for 48 years. Bill was very close to his much loved son Matthew (Heidi) and his daughter Justine (Nick). He adored his grand children Nolan and Juliette Whewell.

Bill was able to attend Justine’s marriage to the man of her dreams, Nicholas Howard on July 22, 2022. Bill is survived by his older brothers Fred, George, Sato, John Jung and sister Jenny Moriarty. Bill was especially fond of his oldest brother Fred of Vancouver. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, especially Michelle, Michael, Kim, Rick, Seena, Gary and their children. As well as his cousins in England. Bill had some special long time friends that meant the world to him, but none as special as John Parachuk who passed away from cancer on June 22, 2022.

Bill made friends easily; he had nothing bad to say of anyone. Bill’s closest friends are devastated of his passing. We are forever grateful for the outstanding care Bill received at the Stronach Cancer Center from Dr. S. Kassam and his team. Nothing was spared in keeping Bill stable so he could be at his daughter’s wedding ceremony as well as flying to Liverpool with his wife, the newlyweds, and the groom’s parents Julia and Kevin. Unfortunately, Bill’s ailing health forced the cancellation of his and his wife’s trip.

The nurses of the 6th floor cancer ward at Southlake provided Bill with excellent care. Bill was a model patient and enjoyed their attention. Bill fought hard, never refusing any treatment offered; he was not ready to give up as he had so much more to do. Bill’s classic cars are now passed on to his son, Matthew, as well as his business, Grainger Irrigation. Bill was a very special, gentle man. He had humble beginnings but matured into a great Licensed Mechanic, Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician and Loveable Man. Bill’s family meant the most to Bill.
Whatever will we do without him.

Bill has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held later.

Arrangements entrusted to Taylor Funeral Home

In memory of Bill, donations may be made to the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Stronach Cancer Centre at Southlake or the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Pleasant in manner, patient in pain, our loss is Your (God’s)
eternal gain. Your cheery ways and smiling face are a pleasure to recall; you
had a kind(ly) word for each and died beloved by all.
