Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on Friday, February 23rd, 2024. He was 78 years old.
Loving husband of Barbara (nee Morgan) for 57 years. Beloved father of Heath (Kim), Brent (Shelly), and Scott (Leslie). Proud grandfather of Jaxin, Madix, Farrah and Hudson. Brother of Gerry Weir. Son of the late James and Margaret Weir.
The family would like to thank the Scarborough Health Network and Sunnybrook’s Palliative Care Unit for their devoted care to Ron.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home (157 Main Street South, Newmarket) on Saturday, March 23rd from 3-6 PM, with speeches commencing at 4 PM. Refreshments to be provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorial donations to be made in Ron’s honour to WFBC. The non profit registered Football Booster Club was formed with fundraisers each year. All donations go to the 2 football teams for equipment, uniforms, bus rentals, etc. Heath is also arranging to place a large stone aside the football field with Ron’s name & a short verse inscribed in his memory.
